David Webb works as a professor of Eastern studies at an American university, but beneath this harmless facade lies a turbulent past: his involvement in the Vietnam War, in which his first wife died, and his participation, under the false name of Jason Bourne, in a guerrilla group funded by the CIA. The love of his second wife has allowed him to regain a peaceful and normal life. However, the situation becomes complicated when a mysterious assassin in the Far East adopts the name Bourne.
